Active Isolated Stretching with Marjorie Brook  

centers on physiological principles of specific muscle lengthening, increased circulation and oxygen to the tissues, lengthening of the superficial and deep fascia. The seminar involves exact details of how to safely lengthen muscles and fascia simultaneously maintaining a physiologically based agonist-antagonist relationship.

The seminar is 20% lectures, 80% hands-on work. Detailed approaches to each muscle surrounding a joint, various indications and contraindications related to diseases, injuries, joint replacements, osteoporosis and aging factors. Carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet, tendonitis, arthritis, fibromyalgia, back problems, neuropathy, and various sports medicine considerations are discussed and demonstrated during the seminar.

Seminars are available in two formats.  The first being a 22 CEU 3- day event which includes AIS instruction for the entire body. The second consists of  two, 2 - day events, one concentrating on the upper body and the other the lower for 16 CEU's each.

Specific Stretching For Golfers  
                                                             

Regardless of age or physical condition, pre-game stretching can reduce the risk of injury and help lower your score. Benefits include increased performance, decreased injuries, and improved overall enjoyment of game. This four hour seminar will exam the range of motion of the golfer’s swing and identify the specific muscles involved: shoulder, neck, hips, trunk, calves, and wrists. You will learn how to isolate and stretch each muscle. Maximizing your flexibility and ability to avoid and or recover from injury.

One on One Training 

In a private, semi-private one on one Active Isolated Stretching training session Marjorie will instruct you on how to perform the stretching and strengthening protocols . You will be shown the correct way to do each movement so you can stretch both yourself and your clients utilizing proper body mechanics. Sessions will consist of :

  • You being stretched by Marjorie to gain a better understanding of how the AIS should feel.
 
  • You performing AIS on Marjorie for direct feedback on your technique.
 
  • Marjorie observing/aiding you working on clients to establish proper body mechanics and touch.
