Coming Soon! Body Mechanics Workshops

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) Seminars

These courses center on the physiological principles of specific muscle lengthening, the increasing of lymphatic and venous circulation to the tissue, lengthening of the superficial and deep fascia. The seminars involve exact details of how to safely lengthen muscles and fascia simultaneously maintaining a physiologically based agonist-antagonist relationship.

Seminars are 20% lectures and 80% hands-on work. Detailed approaches to each muscle surrounding a joint, various indications and contraindications related to diseases, injuries, joint replacements, osteoporosis and aging factors. Carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet, tendonitis, arthritis, fibromyalgia, back problems, neuropathy, and various sports medicine considerations are discussed and demonstrated during the seminars. Special attention will paid to body mechanics and client cueing.

AIS Seminars are available in multiple formats.

  • 4 - day events - 30 CEUS
  • 3 - day events - 22 CEUS
  • 2 - day events - 16 CEUS
  • 1 - day events -   6 CUES

Strength Training

Through specific isolated strengthening, you will learn how to, increase range of motion (ROM) lymphatic and venous circulation. The emphasis is placed on building and maintaining muscular strength, power and endurance throughout complete range of motion. You can expect to learn postural and stabilizing exercises for most every part of the body. Over the course of the weekend you will also be taught how to facilitate neuromuscular re-education.

This class is accessible to anyone looking to increase their knowledge of strength training. The information is presented for everyone, from those who are out of shape, injured, post surgical and can challenge even the "strong and fit". Come learn a new definition of 'core" stability as we explore all of the muscles of pelvic stabilization, not just the abdominals. See what precision exercises can do for you and your clients.

Intensives

These one day seminars start off with a review of the anatomy followed by a Q & A session. The attendees pair off and then students will experience the protocol twice, once as client and once as practitioner. Marjorie will walk the students through a complete protocol and correct the practitioner's body mechanics. After the lunch break the students will switch positions (client becomes practitioner, practitioner becomes client), then once again Marjorie will go through the entire protocol making body mechanics corrections.

There are four intensive in the series:
Lower Body (pre-requisite 3-day whole body or 2-day Lower body seminar or any Aaron Mattes class)
Knees to Toes (pre-requisite 3-day whole body or 2-day Lower body seminar or any Aaron Mattes class)
Upper Body (pre-requisite 3-day whole body or 2-day Upper body seminar or any Aaron Mattes class)
Elbow to Fingers (pre-requisite 3-day whole body or 2-day Upper body seminar or any Aaron Mattes class)

Scar Tissue (8 or 12 CEUs)

This clss features a three dimensional approach designed by Marjorie Brook to address fascial restrictions. Presented as either a one or two day workshop  centering on physiological and anatomical principles of fascial restrictions, lengthening of the superficial to deep fascia, breaking down of adhesions and the increase of lymphatic and venous circulation to the tissue. The lecture will cover indications and contraindications related to diseases, injuries, joint replacements, and aging factors. The long and short term effects of scar tissue from the physiological to the psychological, neuropathy, and various sports medicine considerations will also be discussed during the seminar.  After the lecture, a detailed, six step approach to manually releasing scaring and adhesions from the  fascia will be presented.
