About Marjorie Brook and Brook Seminars
Marjorie Brook, LMT, CIMI, Advanced AIS Practitioner/Instructor
Brook Seminars, bodywork education, was founded by Marjorie Brook in 2007. As an Advanced Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) Practitioner and a Certified Personal Trainer, she trained under and assisted Aaron Mattes (pioneer of AIS) across the United States & Canada for four years prior to breaking out on her own.
From the very start of her practice as a Massage Therapist, Marjorie recognized the importance of treating Scar Tissue. This understanding led to her developing a specialized technique called Scar Tissue Release. Marjorie currently teaches AIS and Scar Tissue Release seminars throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
Ms. Brook has been a Nationally Certified, NYS Licensed Massage Therapist since 1997. In addition to Brook Seminars, Marjorie has a private massage therapy practice - A Kneaded Break - that caters to both healthy and special needs children and adults.

How I started my career in bodywork:
After a successful but unfulfilling 10-year career in broadcasting I decided to pursue Massage Therapy. I had originally gone into broadcasting to make a difference in the world. Then I found myself a part of the media sensationalizing events such as the O.J sham. It was time to resign. I decided to completely change direction. With this change I found a profession where I could make a difference on a more personal and individual level. While studying massage I supported myself through personal training, teaching Ju-Jitsu, gymnastics and Mommy and Me Classes.
What I like best about teaching bodywork:
The most rewarding aspect of my efforts is seeing the light in the eyes of my students when they “get it" - when they realize that they can truly make a difference in their own lives and those of their clients. And then to receive feedback that they and their clients have achieved amazing results because of the techniques I have taught them.
My teaching style:
I understand that people learn and process information differently so my presentations are tailored to reach across that spectrum. Humor and group participation are vital in creating an atmosphere of comfort and it engages students to ask questions as well as contribute information. As I must understand my students, I emphasize that they must know their clients - in addition to proper body mechanics- in order to be successful.
What I do when I’m not teaching:
My private practice keeps me very busy. For my own mental and emotional well being I enjoy kick boxing, ball room dancing, hiking and kayaking with my husband. And there is nothing better than just spending time with my dogs.
On the horizon:
I’m currently working on a series of comprehensive guides and DVDs for body balancing with stretching & strengthening featuring AIS protocols which are expected to be published/released in late 2010. They present the material in an easy user friendly format with additional information such as my exclusive "scar technique" that I have developed and which compliments Active Isolated Stretching programs.

- Approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider.
- Meets current standards for continuing education for both the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and the State of Florida.
- Approved by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC) to provide continuing education for Athletic trainers.
